I am an Indigenous woman from the Sto:lo territory. My mother is from Skowkale and my father is from Cheam. I am registered to Skowkale though. I have been passionate about Indigenous governance since I was a young girl. I am hoping to lead my community towards a brighter future for the next generations. I am also hoping to support Indigenous peoples by helping to get to a place where we can be self-governed and sovereign. I am hoping to complete my master’s degree then start a position within Indigenous governance.
I would like to start working as a board member for the Sto:lo Service Agency, so I can make a deifference internally. The position is not full time, nor is it paid but I believe it would be a great opportunity to further my education towards governance.
